It looks like ZZ Top’s latest tour has topped out for now.
The famous Texas blues rock trio is postponing their Tonnage tour as a result of bassist Dusty Hill experiencing health concerns. According to a statement from the band, though, the issue doesn’t appear to be all that serious.
“ZZ’s cornerstone bass guitarist, Mr. Dusty Hill, is addressing a tummy ailment and is following a directive to lay low for the next few weeks,” reads a press release.
“Upcoming scheduled dates on ZZ Top’s current tour are temporarily suspended and are arranged for immediate rescheduling.”
Poor Dusty has been having a rough time of late. In recent years, he’s injured his hip due to an accident on the band’s tour bus and also had to undergo surgery for kidney stones.
Despite the recent tour suspension, ZZ Top has announced it plans to tour extensively in 2018.
