It looks fans of Five Finger Death Punch have something to celebrate this year.
In a New Year’s Day Instagram post, guitarist Jason Hook told the world his band had just completed work on their new album which will be coming out later this year; his message was accompanied by a rather mundane photo of him in his car waiting at a Starbuck’s drive-thru.
“Our new record is finished! Listening to the mixes on my way thru @starbucks at 7:39am this morning! Hello 2017 here we come!”
The group signed a new contract with Rise Records last May, but must release a final record with the Prospect Park label to be released from their contractual obligations to them. There’s still no word on the name of the new album which would follow on the heels of 2015’s Got Your Six.
Bassist Chris Kael is keeping pretty mum about the new album at the moment, but recently let it slip that one of his basses will be headed to a Hard Rock Cafe on the Las Vegas Strip. He broke the news in a Dec. 31 Facebook Post about a farewell visit to one of their establishments in Las Vegas where he used to work:
“Stopped by my old job this afternoon to say goodbye. The doors at @hrclasvegas close after tonight leaving the @hrcvegasstrip as the only HRC in Vegas. Heard my bass will be going to the location on The Strip. Lots of great memories with lots of great friends here! #Bartender #Memories #S**tYesSon”
5FDP are currently taking a break from touring but have some shows in South America and Europe planned for May and June of this year.
