Have you ever pined for a home where the metalheads roam and the neighbors don’t ever complain? If so, you might be interested in Jason Newsted’s enormous Sula, Montana ranch, which he just put up for sale.
You might want to have a little spare cash around if you’re looking to buy, though, as the former Metallica bassist is asking a cool $4.95 million for the place. Newsted’s ranch is listed for sale on the Hall and Hall real estate site, which describes it as follows.
“This 545± acre gem is situated amidst an ocean of public lands and large holdings. A three bedroom, three and half bath custom timber frame home with over 5,800 square feet was completed in 2006 and is perched atop a ridge. The chef’s kitchen includes Thermador and other premium stainless appliances, has a walk-in pantry, and a dumb waiter to deliver your groceries. Huge panes of glass absorb the 360º views. A towering stone Rumsford-style fireplace is the centerpiece of the living room and is only one of several. Exquisite woodwork is found throughout.”
The listing goes on to tell of a wall inscribed with an “intricate ‘sunburst’ design handcrafted from exotic woods direct from the Gibson guitar factory.” It also notes that the ranch offers a manager’s home, shops and a greenhouse and features a “gentle topography perfect for hiking or horseback through vast native grasslands and timber-lined draws.”
And if you’re curious what Jason’s been up to lately aside from putting his ranch up for sale, he and his Chophouse band recently played a charity show aimed at raising hurricane relief funds for folks in Puerto Rico. That show took place Oct. 19 at Evo Italian in Tequesta, Florida. You can watch Jason and his band playing a cover of Bob Seger’s “Turn The Page” at the show below!
