Avenged Sevenfold bassist Johnny Christ (AKA Jonathan Seward) has decided to seize the day—a couple of them actually—to be a good dad.
Following the recent birth of a son, he’s decided to opt out of several Avenged Sevenfold shows in Germany to spend some quality time with his wife and their newborn child.
The bass player elaborated on this in a recent statement to fans:
“I wanted to share the news with you all that my wife and I recently added a new addition to the A7X family, Franklin James. Unfortunately, because of this exciting announcement, I have had to stay back and miss a couple of shows in one of my favorite countries, Germany… I’ll be catching back up with you guys in Berlin on Feb. 15th. Can’t wait to see you all, thanks for everyone’s support.”
During Christ’s absence, his bass duties are being handled by Dave Stauble, a member of the group’s tech crew. (WATCH A FAN VIDEO OF THEIR FEB. 12 FRANKFURT CONCERT BELOW.)
Avenged Sevenfold are currently touring Europe with Disturbed and Chevelle. Later this year, they’ll be sharing the stage with Metallica during the legendary metal band’s upcoming North American Hardwired… tour, which kicks off May 10 in Baltimore.
