Last Dance

Stellar new release preserves reunion of old friends in highly acclaimed duo recording!

Last Dance is a follow-up release to 2010’s highly acclaimed Jasmine, an exquisite duo recording form two jazz veteran greats, pianist Keith Jarrett and bassist Charlie Haden. The tunes on Last Dance, in fact, are a collection of standards from those very same Jasmine sessions, recorded in 2007 at Jarrett’s Cavelight home studio while Haden was still feeling reasonably strong. Charlie, who suffers from the debilitating effects of post polio syndrome, has been hindered from performing the past few years. His playing, however, which garnered him a world class reputation as a bassist by way of his work with Ornette Coleman and Don Cherry, as well as his own groups, Liberation Music Orchestra and Quartet West, shows no signs of deterioration on this latest release. Last Dance has preserved a beautiful reunion between two old friends, who hadn’t played together in decades.
