Bassist suffers second medical emergency in as many months

Dusty Hill is having a rough summer.  In July, the ZZ Top bassist needed surgery to treat an attack of kidney stones, delaying the start of the band’s summer tour with Jeff Beck.  Now Hill is down for the count again after taking a nasty fall on the group’s tour bus Tuesday, injuring his hip to the point where it required “immediate attention,” according to Live Nation, the tour’s promoter.  The rest of the tour has been cancelled.  Ticketholders are being offered refunds or exchanges for upcoming shows.

FBPO had planned to attend Wednesday evening’s event.  We were looking forward to hangin’ with Dusty, as well as Beck’s killer bassist, Rhonda Smith.  Saying this feels like déjà vu, but, get well soon, Dusty!
