Hailing from the musical hotbed of the California Bay Area, “Ready Freddie” Washington is a world-renowned bass guitarist and songwriter. Lauded for his songwriting prowess in the Patrice Rushen hit “Forget Me Nots,” Ready Freddie has also performed and/or recorded with Anita Baker, Herbie Hancock, George Benson, B.B. King, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Kenny Loggins and countless others.

FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Freddie during the Michigan stop on Steely Dan’s 2015 tour.
