We have some unfortunate news to share about Scott Sorry, formerly a bassist with the British hard rock group The Wildhearts. According to a tweet from Wildheart frontman Ginger Wildheart, Sorry has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
“My brother Scott Sorry is very sick,” the tweet reads. “He has a brain tumor and he needs all of our help. Please repost this, get involved and help in any way that you can.”
A GoFundMe page set up by Sorry’s friend Rich Jones says the tumor was discovered on Dec. 22 and was impairing his speech and motor functions. It also noted that the bassist was expected to undergo surgery Dec. 26.
“Alongside the obvious emotional toll of a diagnosis like this, it’ll mean mounting medical bills and an as-yet-unknown amount of time off work for Scott,” writes Jones. “We’re all pulling for Scott and if anyone can get through this thing it’s him, but right now we have to just wait and see.”
In addition to working with The Wildhearts, Sorry has also played with Brides of Destruction, Sorry & The Sinatras and Amen. Those interested in donating to help Sorry and his family through this difficult time can do so here.
