Sting is teaming up with prog-rock favorite Peter Gabriel this summer for a 19-stop North American tour called Rock Paper Scissors—and the joint endeavor will be coming with a special twist for fans.

While the two artists are co-headlining the concert series, the shows won’t simply be a matter of them playing their own material. Instead, they’ll also be playing songs from each other’s catalogs, both together and on their own, as well as combining bands at points during the performances.

“The interesting thing for me is what happens to our songs when they are juxtaposed with each other’s songs,” Sting said in a statement. “What I do will change what he does and vice-versa. The songs we trade and the songs that we sing together will have an unexpected result, we hope.”

“For me it’s partly what sounds good in that present incarnation balanced with what people want to hear,” Gabriel added. “You want to try and get both sides and throw in something unfamiliar as well as the hits.

The tour will kick off June 21 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio and wrap up on July 24 at the Rexall Palace in Edmonton, Alberta.

Sting and Peter Gabriel are long-time friends, having first toured together in support of Amnesty International in 1986. In some respects, the Rock Paper Scissors tour will resemble Sting’s 2014 tour with Paul Simon, in which the performers also shared songs and musicians.
