Those alcohol-loving canines are back with something cool for you to watch. The Winery Dogs have just released a video for their single “Captain Love.”
The supergroup, which consists of bassist Billy Sheehan (David Lee Roth, Mr. Big), singer-guitarist Richie Kotzen (Poison, Mr. Big) and drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Avenged Sevenfold), originally released the raunchy tongue-in-cheek party tune as a track on their latest album, Hot Streak.
In anticipation of their upcoming U.S. tour, however, the Dogs are now also putting it out June 3 as a radio single. Directed by Vicente Cordero, their new video mixes concert footage with fun behind-the-scenes slices of the band on tour (WATCH IT BELOW).
Billy shared his thoughts on “Captain Love” in an interview with Sleaze Roxx last year.
“That’s one song that I clearly recall that came together after we’d come back from a lunch break. We had such a higher level of energy,” he said. “I think I probably had a couple of espressos or something. … We left a lot of air between notes and a giant blast of sound — ‘Captain Love’ was born.”
Their new U.S. tour gets rolling on June 25 in Hinckley, Minnesota and wraps up in San Antonio, Texas on July 10.
