The son of bass legend Jaco Pastorius provides a first-hand account of his own career as a formidable artist and bass player
Exclusive video interview with FBPO’s Jon Liebman
November 23, 2015
Growing up as the son of bass legend Jaco Pastorius can’t be easy, particularly if your chosen instrument is the bass. Felix Pastorius, however, has earned the distinction of a world-class musician in his own right.
Spending his early years in Florida, Felix relocated to New York City in 2009. In addition to fronting his own band, the Hipster Assassins, Felix has performed many high-profile gigs with the likes of Bobby Thomas, Jr. and Cindy Blackman, as well as long-running stints with Jeff Coffin’s Mu’tet and the Yellowjackets, upon the departure of Jimmy Haslip.
FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Felix at the 2015 Warwick Bass Camp in Markneukirchen, Germany.

Thanks so much for the insightful and inspiring bass interviews and subject matters. I always strive to continue to evolve as a bassist and encourage instruction to the upcoming youth trying to hone their musical skills and talents by referring them to your websites and articles. I wish you nothing but continued success in the future.
