Daniel Kimbro grew up in a very musical family in Tennessee, exposed to all kinds of music, including quite a healthy dose of bluegrass. He dabbled with recorder, guitar and trombone, before making bass his primary instrument. Daniel majored in music at University of Tennessee, where he studied with bass professor Rusty Holloway. Throughout his career, Daniel has performed alongside the likes of Jerry Douglas, with whom he was nominated for a Grammy award, John Hiatt, Roseanne Cash, Mary Chapin Carpenter, James Taylor, Tommy Emmanuel, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson, and Robben Ford.
