Marcelo Maccagnan is a highly accomplished bassist, composer and bandleader, originally from Brazil. Growing up, he listened to a lot of rock, electronic, Brazilian, and pop music, fueling a desire to learn to play bass. After attending from Boston’s Berklee College of Music, Marcelo moved to New York upon graduating, and became an in-demand player and sideman on the NYC music scene. To date, Marcelo’s recorded with Kenny Werner and Peter Eldridge, and has performed with Flightsuit, Tender Beats, Stones in Pockets, and the Cindy Latin Big Band. As a leader, Marcelo’s solo releases include Looking Ahead, Boundless, and Night Tales.
