Quintin Berry, an accomplished bass player, singer and songwriter, began performing at the age of 12. Widely known for his trademark “upside down” bass technique, “Q” has performed with many internationally known artists, including Percy Sledge, Peabo Bryson, the Tams, Cornelius Brothers and Jaco Pastorius and he currently plays with The Ugli Stick.
Berry has also done session work, playing bass for records and jingles, and has composed music for TV and film. FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Q at the 2013 Detroit Bass Fest.
