French bass virtuoso gives the scoop on Bass Ball 2 release

Bunny Brunel is a Grammy-nominated bass player and composer. He’s performed with Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Dizzy Gillespie, Stanley Clarke, Tony Williams, Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, Ziggy Marley, and many others. Bunny is also the editor at large of Virtuoso Bass magazine. In 2017, Bunny released his Bass Ball album, a collaboration with Stanley Clarke, which features a stellar lineup of A-list bass players, including Billy Sheehan, Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, and Hadrien Feraud. Earlier this year, Bunny released Bass Ball 2, with appearances by Kyle Eastwood, Armand Sabal-Lecco, Dominique di Piazza, Sekou Bunch, and Federico Malaman.

It amazes me that so many of the online “Top X” bass players” lists don’t include Bunny who is one of the most gifted, skilled, and accomplished bassists and composers on the planet!!! On top of this, he’s a very cool person and a great instructor.
