Louisiana-bred bassist tells all about the gigs with Cyril Neville, Royal Southern Brotherhood and Zabadodat!

Born and raised in Louisiana, Charlie Wooton grew up amidst the rhythms and genres inherent to his native locale.  Throughout the course of his career, which included stops in Atlanta and Los Angeles, Charlie has performed with Bonerama, Zigaboo, Johnny Vidacovich, Chief Monk Boudreaux and many others.  He has also fronted his own bands, the Charlie Wooton Project, Zydefunk and Zabadodat.

Charlie is currently back in Louisiana, where he is member of Royal Southern Brotherhood, alongside music heavyweights Cyril Neville, Yonrico Scott, Bart Walker and Tyrone Vaughan.

FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Charlie at the 2015 winter NAMM show.
