A native of Sweden, Jorgen Carlsson grew up listening to everything from KISS and Black Sabbath to ABBA and music from the big band era. He is best known for his work as the bass player in Gov’t Mule, a gig he’s held since 2008. Jorgen joined the band in 2008 upon the departure of Andy Hess, who replaced original Mule bassist Allen Woody after Woody died in 2000. Jorgen is also a founding member of Planet of the Abts (P.O.A.), along with Mule drummer Matt Abts.

FBPO’s Jon Liebman met up with Jorgen at the Xotic headquarters in Los Angeles.
