Silicon Valley chip maker discovers the wonderful world of bass grooving!

Mark Shirey works at a Silicon Valley high-tech company, making equipment that’s used in manufacturing computer chips. A lifelong fan of music, Mark joined the Bottom Line Club at For Bass Players Only and discovered a whole new world as a bass groover. 

Though he started as a beginner, just a few short years later Mark has become quite adept at mastering his scales and arpeggios, learning the ins and outs of music theory, and sightreading intricate rhythmic patterns, along with some other impressive feats. More importantly, he’s finding untold joy playing walking bass lines, soft rock tunes, blues shuffles, and some nasty funk and R&B!
