Hailing from Somerset, England, Colin Parkinson is the bassist for the hot, fast-rising hard rock band Inglorious.

Inspired by iconic rock bands Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Bad Company, Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones, Inglorious is all about hard rock music, with all its “big guitar riffs and soulful vocals.”

Formed only two years ago, the band has quickly acquired a strong and loyal following, playing sold-out shows to a fast-growing number of music fans. Fronted by Nathan James (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Uli Jon Roth), the band also includes rhythm guitarist Wil Taylor, lead guitarist Andreas Eriksson and drummer Phil Beaver.

The band’s debut album, Inglorious, was released early in 2016 on the Frontiers Music Srl label.  The music, while composed by the band, also features guest writers Al Pitrelli (Megadeth, Alice Cooper, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Neil Fairclough (Queen) and Joel Hoekstra (Night Ranger, Whitesnake).

Queen’s Brian May says Iglorious is “like a potent young Deep Purple but with a new slant – very classic! And the musicianship is stunning!”  Planet Rock Radio’s Paul Anthony calls Inglorious “The future of rock and roll.”

Colin, a long-time user of Rotosound strings, sites fellow-Rotosound artists John Entwistle, Chris Squire and Billy Sheehan as major influences.

FBPO’ Jon Liebman caught up with Colin Parkinson at the 2016 London Bass Guitar Show.
