Young hotshot tells of Eric Gales gig, composing for games and upcoming solo release
Exclusive video interview with FBPO’s Jon Liebman
February 22, 2017
Cody Wright has been rapidly capturing the attention of music lovers everywhere with his high-energy bass grooving, impressive pick playing and phenomenal two-handed tapping.
Originally a guitar player, Cody moved to bass when the band he was playing with, Jonathan Scales Fourchestra, needed a bass player. Since making the switch, he’s embraced the bass wholeheartedly and never looked back.
Cody has performed and/or recorded with Victor Wooten, Jeff Coffin, Michael Manring, Otiel Burbridge, Etienne Mbappé, Mono Neon, Yolanda Charles, Felix Pastorius, Federico Malaman and many others.
These days he maintains a busy touring schedule, lending support to Eric Gales, Jonathan Scales Fourchestra, Everyone Orchestra, Jazz is Phish and James Brown Dance Party.
FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Cody at the EBS booth at the 2017 winter NAMM show.
