Multi-instrumentalist Farida Nelson has performed all over the world, keeping herself constantly busy. As the bassist with the band Unformal, the Azerbaijan native helped her country reach the finals of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. She’s also taken care of the low notes for the former Soviet republic’s top-tier pop-rock band Milk & Kisses. A classically trained musician, Nelson holds a master’s degree in piano performance from Azerbaijan’s Baku University. She also plays guitar, ukulele, recorder, Montessori Bells, and is a singer, as well as being a bassist and pianist. Beyond that, she’s an educator who teaches choir, singing, music history, and music theory. Most recently Farida’s been making a name for herself with her one-woman shows, where she tackles numerous genres while playing a variety of different instruments.
