Tim Landers is a bassist, composer, producer, and educator. Over the course of his decades-long career, Tim has performed and/or recorded with rock and jazz artists Steve Smith & Vital Information, Bill Frisell, Dean Brown, Michael Brecker, Tom Scott, Lee Ritenour, Al Di Meola, Gil Evans, Vinnie Colaiuta, Frank Gambale, and Eric Marienthal, as well as rock, soul, and blues personalities Tori Amos, Tracy Chapman, Beyonce, Stevie Nicks, Gladys Knight, Graham Nash, John Tesh and B.B. King. Tim has recorded for TV shows, including Friends, Cheers, Just Shoot Me, and Entertainment Tonight, as well as TV commercials for McDonald’s, Dodge Trucks, Coca Cola, Nike, Budweiser and Sony. Tim has earned Grammy and Dove nominations for his songwriting and production work. He currently teaches at the L.A. College of Music.

I remember that Al Di Meola album that Tim Landers played on was’nt it called Splendido Hotel back in 1980 .I use to try and play along to the first track.

Fantastic interview!!! I saw Tim with Vital Information at The Roxy in Hollywood in the late 70s or early 80s and he KILLED IT!!!! I arrived early enough to hear the band do a soundcheck and distinctly remember Tim playing the bass line to Pleasure’s “Glide”. It was an amazing concert and Tim is an incredible bassist!!!
