Former Quiet Riot bassist describes learning bass by keeping it simple

Bassist Bjorn Englen is a stalwart of the Los Angeles session scene, one who’s particularly known for his work with hard rocking artists like Yngwie Malmsteen, Quiet Riot, Robin McCauley, Dio Disciples, and Tony MacAlpine. A graduate of L.A.’s Bass Institute of Technology, Bjorn has played over 1,500 live shows and recorded on more than 30 albums over the course of his career. These collaborations cover a wide range of genres, including work with members of Foreigner, Deep Purple, KISS, The Supremes, Journey, Korn, Dream Theater, Whitesnake, Heart, and Guns N’ Roses, as well as artists like David Lee Roth, Elton John, Steve Vai, Alice Cooper, and Buddy Guy. Englen is currently a member and co-founder of the all-star metal group Soul Sign.
