Chuck Rainey is one of the most recorded bass players in music history.  His bass can be heard on countless records with a long list of artists, including Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Jackie Wilson, the Supremes, Steely Dan, Harry Belafonte, Robert Flack and Donny Hathaway.  Chuck also supplied the bass tracks to many movies, commercials and TV shows, including the iconic Sanford & Son and The Jeffersons themes.

FBPO’s Jon Liebman sat down with Chuck at the 2016 winter NAMM show to talk about his Rhythm Intensive project, Xotic basses and old friend Larry Carlton.
