Have you ever had trouble staying focused while playing your bass?
Sometimes it can be really hard!
Like that time I got called to do a last-minute emergency fill-in for a show, back when I was living in Miami. I never would have expected this in a million years!
Rather than tell you here, I’ll let you watch the video (it’s a short one). It’ll have more impact there.
Bottom line: You’ve got to stay focused on your playing – no matter what happens!

Wow! Now that would be very distracting even for a female bassist! LOL!
I had a weird situation where we were all jamming along to a song, the lead guitarist started doing her lead thing and somehow we couldn’t hear her at all so I just kept playing the basic groove and the drummer did the same, until she looked at us and kinda gave us the…”what are you doing are you ready to take over look?” So, then we knew to take over and move on to the end of the song. It’s hilarious and it’s all on video on my YouTube channel. At the end, I’m looking at her and saying “I can’t hear you!” Too funny. We all kinda lost track of what the lead was doing but came back in the end.
