Dave Bizzigotti knows how to make a bass sing… and how to make it scream. Although in recent years he’s been playing a mix of styles alongside Living Colour’s Corey Glover in the Corey Glover Band, his roots grow out of the metal scene. The affable New Jersey native made his name with the death metal outfit Ripping Corpse in the late ’80s and early ’90s. He later went on to play with Unknown Cure, Helmer and Speed\Kill/Hate. His more recent work includes stints with the prog-rock group Wizards of Winter and the goth metal band A Pale Horse Named Death.
FBPO’s Jon Liebman recently met up with Bizzigotti at this years Summer NAMM for a conversation that covers his eclectic influences, the Nashville numbers systems and some intriguing thoughts on his technique.
