One of the most recognizable metal bassists out there, David Ellefson has won over legions of fans with his forceful, technically accomplished playing. A co-founder and longtime member of Megadeth, he’s received a Grammy and numerous Grammy nominations (not to mention a host of gold and platinum records) for his work with the legendary thrash band. Beyond that, he’s also contributed his musical and songwriting skills to projects like Soulfly, F5, Temple of Brutality, Altitudes and Attitude and Metal Allegiance.

As if that’s not enough, he’s also a producer, clinician and ordained Lutheran minister. Oh, and did we mention businessman? Ellefson also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and owns his very own line of coffees, Ellefson Coffee Co.

FBPO’s Jon Liebman spoke with Mr. Ellefson about the success of Dystopia, upcoming touring and recording plans, Megadeth’s 35th Anniversary, coffee offerings and more during an interview at this year’s Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California.
