British bassist and funny man tells of his time with Pink Floyd, unique Warwick bass and other amusing anecdotes

London-born Guy Pratt is a Grammy-winning bass player, composer, producer and comedian.
In addition to his long association with Pink Floyd, having performed on the band’s Delicate Sound of Thunder and P*U*L*S*E world tours, Pratt has also collaborated with a long list of major recording artists, including David Bowie, Robert Palmer, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Bryan Ferry, Elton John, Womack & Womack, the Smiths, Tom Jones, Iggy Pop, the Pretenders, Echo & the Bunnymen, Coverdale/Page and many others. He has also composed extensively for film and TV.
Guy’s book, My Bass and Other Animals, released in 2007, is the basis for his one-man comedy show, with which has toured successfully.
FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Guy at a recent recording session in Michigan for bassist Ralphe Armstrong.
