A familiar face on the Nashville scene, multi-instrumentalist Jacob Lowery currently takes care of the low notes for Michael McDonald’s band. In addition to working with the Doobie Brothers icon, the Louisiana native is also a busy session musician and producer. Over the years, he’s collaborated with a long list of artists that includes well-known names like Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant and Burt Bacharach.
In an interview at Detroit’s Sound Board Theater, FBPO’s Jon Liebman spoke with Lowery about how he got his big break, Nashville’s notation system and why he sticks to four string basses.

Enjoyed the interview. Knew his family but never Jacob. I loved the answer to the final questions – it was the answer my heart predicted when he paused.
Glad you enjoyed the interview, Anne. Thanks for commenting!
