7-string fretless bassist shares details on heavy new bass duo, Quadvium, with Steve Di Giorgio

Jeroen Paul Thesseling is a Dutch bassist, known for his dynamic playing and melodic approach in metal music using a 7-string fretless bass. He is also one half of the dual bass-led instrumental progressive metal/fusion band Quadvium, formed in 2019 with American fretless bass player Steve DiGiorgio (Testament, Death). Since beginning his studies on the electric bass in 1988 at the ArtEZ Academy of Music (Enschede, Netherlands), Jeroen has recorded and collaborated with a mix of notable jazz and metal acts, including Pestilence, Ensemble Salazhar, Obscura, and the Salazh Trio. Recently, Jeroen gave his first live performance with Quadvium in support of the band’s two new singles, “Náströnd” and “Apophis”, off their debut album Tetradöm which was released on May 30th, 2025.
