John Clayton is a GRAMMY Award–winning bassist, composer, arranger, and producer. He has written for or recorded with some of the biggest names in music history, including Milt Jackson, Diana Krall, Paul McCartney, Regina Carter, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Gladys Knight, Queen Latifah, McCoy Tyner, Yo-Yo Ma, and Charles Aznavour. John’s arrangement of the “Star-Spangled Banner” was famously performed by Whitney Houston at the 1990 Super Bowl and has become an iconic platinum recording. John’s limitless versatility has taken him from serving as Principal Bass in the Amsterdam Philharmonic Orchestra to performing with countless jazz luminaries, including Count Basie, Monty Alexander, Milt Jackson, and Jeff Hamilton.
