March 21, 2022
Louis Ochoa is well-versed in a variety of different genres, including one of the more recent ones—video games. The Berklee-educated multi-instrumentalist plays bass for the “rockestral” ensemble Video Game Orchestra. Founded in 2008, the Boston-based project combines elements of a rock band and an orchestra to play arrangements based on popular video games. In addition to touring internationally, VGO has also helped create original soundtracks for games like Final Fantasy XV and Mages of Mystralia. Ochoa also has extensive experience performing in rock and metal bands, and has served as the on-call studio bassist for the Berklee College of Music’s Songwriting Department. His recent work includes playing with the John Hanifin Band, Jamie Lynn Hart, and LoVeSeXy, a Prince tribute group. Ochoa is also the leader of a three-person music collective, Project O.N.S., which combines aspects of jazz fusion and electronic dance music.
