April 21, 2025

Matt Mangano is the bassist for Zac Brown Band. Matt grew up in Visalia, CA, before attending the Berklee College of Music, where he was classmates with Clay Cook (also of Zac Brown Band) and pop star John Mayer. After moving to Atlanta to tour with Cook and Mayer (and even appearing in the music video for Mayer’s smash hit “No Such Thing”), Matt moved to Nashville, where he would go on to work as a studio engineer and live audio engineer with Zac Brown. In 2012, Matt and Zac opened Southern Ground Nashville Recording Studio, where Matt served as Studio Director until being asked to fill the Zac Brown Band bass chair shortly thereafter. Matt is currently on tour with the band throughout the rest of 2025.
