Bassist Michael McKeegan is one-third of Therapy?, the punchy Northern Ireland alt-rock trio that’s rounded out by vocalist-guitarist Andy Cairns and drummer Neil Cooper. Known for its unapologetic mix of punk, metal, hard rock and “noisy rock,” the group has sold more than two million albums worldwide since first kicking off in 1989. It’s also toured with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Fugazi, Loop, and Teenage Fanclub, recorded with John Peel and had two of its albums top the UK indie charts.
Prior to joining Therapy?, McKeegan played in the metal band Evil Priest with his brothers Ciaran and Charlie. Over the years, he’s also been involved with a number of side projects, including Sons of Massey, the Gemils, and Haunch. A live album of Therapy?’s greatest hits, recorded at Abbey Road studios in London, was released in 2020.
