Two generations of Easts open up about playing, recording, and creating Father Son album together

Nathan East is a legendary bassist known throughout the global music community. In addition to being a founding member of the contemporary jazz group Fourplay, he has toured extensively with superstars such as Eric Clapton, Kenny Loggins, Phil Collins, and Al Jarreau. Nathan’s studio career includes more than 2,000 recording credits with music icons like Whitney Houston, Elton John, Madonna, Beyoncé, Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand, and Daft Punk. With two solo albums to his name, Nathan’s most recent release is a duo project called Father Son, recorded alongside his son Noah East and released in May 2025. In April 2025, Nathan was honored with the 2025 Country Dick Montana Lifetime Achievement Award at the San Diego Music Awards.
Noah East is an accomplished touring and session pianist and organist. Though still in his 20s, he has performed or collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including Steve Ferrone, Greg Phillinganes, Shania Twain, Randy Brecker, and Rome Ramirez. Noah began playing the piano at a young age after his parents discovered that he had perfect pitch, and by the age of thirteen he made his professional keyboard debut on his father‘s GRAMMY-nominated solo album. Noah’s musical journey has since taken him to prestigious venues including the Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul, South Korea, the Tokyo Blue Note Jazz Club, plus numerous Jazz Festivals around the world.
