Born and raised in Los Angeles, Paul Jackson, Jr., is a highly accomplished Grammy-nominated composer, arranger, producer and guitarist.
Throughout his stellar career, he has performed and/or recorded with everyone from Elton John, Amy Grant, Chicago and Daft Punk to David Sanborn, Lalo Schifrin, Patti LaBelle, George Benson, Dave Koz, Al Jarreau, Marcus Miller, Kirk Whalum and many others. Paul’s guitar can also be heard on several Michael Jackson albums, including Thriller, Bad, Dangerous and HIStory. His numerous television appearances have included The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, American Idol and The Kennedy Center Honors, to name a few.
Paul’s latest solo release, Stories From Stompin’ Willie, was released in 2016 as a tribute to George Duke. “I wanted to do a first class tribute to George,” says Paul. “He was my mentor, my coach, and my friend.”
FGPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Paul at the Xotic booth at the 2017 winter NAMM show.
