Rob Morgan is the bassist that Minnesota-based synth-pop sensation Owl City calls on when he’s planning to go on tour. And despite the electronica ambience of their sets, he’s as likely to be kicking out bass lines on a u-bass as a synth-bass when they’re on stage together. In addition to holding down bass and music director duties with Owl City, Morgan puts his skills to work for a variety of clients ranging from up-and-comers to Grammy nominees. He also hosts his own podcast, Rob Morgan Is A Curious Person.
FBPO’s Jon Liebman spoke with him about early inspirations, working with Owl City and his love of U-Basses during a meetup at this year’s Winter NAMM in Anaheim, California.
