Make no mistake about it, Rob Stoner is a rock and roll lifer. The multi-instrumentalist has played more than a few unforgettable gigs with legendary artists in his time—and you better believe he’s got some stories to tell. Stoner’s career got going in a big way in the late 1960s. While attending school at NYC’s Columbia university, his band notched a songwriting contract with Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. He soon made a name for himself as a go-to session musician, finding work with the likes of Bob Dylan and Don McLean. Over the years, Stoner has appeared with or recorded with a long list of music greats including Chuck Berry, Ringo Starr, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Lou Reed, and Pete Seeger. Beyond his work as a sideman and session musician, he’s also released two solo albums and had his original compositions recorded by artists like Link Wray and Johnny Winter.
