Widely known for his mastery of the six-string fretless bass, Steve Bailey has performed and/or recorded wide variety of internationally recognized music luminaries, cutting across practically all genres. The list includes everyone from Dizzy Gillespie, James Moody, Paquito D’Rivera and the Rippingtons to Jethro Tull, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Willie Nelson, Larry Carlton, Mel Torme, Victor Wooten, John Patitucci and Billy Sheehan.
Since 2012, Steve has served as Bass Department Chair at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, succeeding his longtime predecessor Rich Appleman.
