Tom Kennedy is a master of both the electric and acoustic bass. The St. Louis native got started on his career while still a teenager, playing with the likes of jazz legends Dizzy Gillespie, James Moody, Freddie Hubbard, Sonny Stitt, Nat Adderley and many others.
After relocating to New York City, Tom became an in-demand, first-call bassist, performing with a long list of major artists, including Michael Brecker, David Sanborn, Steve Gadd, Frank Gambale, Tania Maria and Al DiMeola. Tom has also worked extensively with Dave Weckl and Mike Stern and continues to perform and tour all over the world.
FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Tom recently to talk about current and upcoming tours, equipment what lies ahead.
