From Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves to Daughtry and Bobby Church Band, hard rocker tells his story

California native Josh Paul got his first gig at age 7, playing drums in Don Henley’s ‘80s hit, “The Boys of Summer.”  After his family moved into an apartment building, an impractical place for practicing drums, Josh switched over to bass and has never looked back.

After establishing himself in the LA music scene, Josh got the gigs with Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves, in both cases filling a void left by a departing Robert Trujillo.

Josh Paul is currently the bassist in Daughtry, with whom he has been performing, recording and touring since the band’s inception, except for a short break in 2012.

FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Josh in the Warwick showroom during the 2015 summer NAMM Show in Nashville, TN.
