A native of Ohio, bassist Doug Johns has worked with Victor Wooten, Buddy Miles, Dweezil Zappa, Chuck Rainey, Dana Rasch, the LA Mass Choir, Grammy-winning producer Aaron Lindsey, Steve Smith and many others. He can often be seen on national stages with his two-man project, the Doug Johns Duo, featuring drummer J-Simms. Doug’s solo CDs include Doug Johns, Pocket Fulla Nasty, Stank and his latest release, Blomp!
Doug is a longtime endorser of Pedulla basses. “I’ve had the same Pedulla bass for 27 years now,” says Doug. “When it’s in my hands, it allows me to talk!”
FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Doug before a recent show in Michigan, where Doug appeared on the bill with Bryan Beller and the Aristocrats.
