Italian bass virtuoso discusses new star-studded solo release, equipment and forthcoming Vivaldi Metal project

Alberto Rigoni is an Italian bass player and composer, well known throughout the world for playing with progressive rock bands TwinSpirits and Lady & the BASS, as well as his work as a solo artist and co-producer of the Vivaldi Metal Project.

Alberto’s solo releases, Something Different, Rebirth, Three Wise Monkeys and Overloaded, feature legendary musicians Kevin Moore (Dream Theater), Gavin Harrison (Procupine Tree, King Crimson), Göran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen), Michael Manring and many others.

His newest release, BASSORAMA, features guest appearances from Doug Wimbish, Divinity Roxx, Stu Hamm, Nik West, Steve Lawson, Anna Sentina, Lars Lehmann and Remco Hendrix.

FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Alberto in Venice, Italy, to talk about bass, equipment, future projects and lots more.
