This often overlooked genre is definitely worth a listen!

This week’s interview with the ever-funky, church-bred bassist Justin Raines got me to thinking more and more about gospel music and just how powerful this genre can be.

There are so many great gospel bass players, including Andrew Gouché, Reggie Young and Fred Hammond, not to mention other music greats throughout history, like the Rev. James Cleveland, Andraé Crouch, Mahalia Jackson an so many more. If you’re not familiar with this genre, you don’t know what you’re missing!
