Janis Wallin is an electric bassist from Chicago, IL. Renowned for her deep pocket, enthusiastic stage presence and versatility in all styles of music, she was dubbed “The Mistress of Groove” by Grammy-award-winning bassist, Victor Wooten. Since graduating and eventually teaching at Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, CA, Janis has thundered through more than two decades of performing, touring, writing, and arranging, as well as teaching in the greater-Chicago metropolitan area. She first gained notoriety from her work with original jazz/funk/rock act Family Groove Company, and currently tours with countless projects year-round.
