December 11, 2023

Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Keith Jones was surrounded by music for as long as he can remember. After studying and becoming quite serious with classical guitar, he heard a recording of Ron Carter’s bass playing on a Freddie Hubbard album and abruptly switched to bass. As a bass player, Keith has performed and/our toured with Bob Marley, Kenny Loggins, Santana, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Wayne Shorter, Al Jarreau, Jean-Luc Ponty, Keb’ Mo’, Flora Purim and Airto Moreira. Keith’s bass playing can also be heard on movie soundtracks, including How Stella Got Her Groove Back and Basic Instinct, and on commercials for Coca Cola and Jelly Belly jellybeans. Keith is also a Grammy-nominated producer and recording engineer, who’s recorded, mixed or mastered a long list of major projects from Brazilian jazz to alternative rock, reggae, jazz, Latin, and World Music. He currently runs CGS Spatial and Record It Live in Southern California, with business partner, Carlos Flood.
