Berklee educator describes new release, The Art of the Bass Choir

Exclusive video interview with FBPO’s Jon Liebman
December 19, 2022

Electric. Acoustic. Author. Educator. Sideman. Composer. Lincoln Goines really does do it all. The multi-faceted performer has made a name for himself playing jazz, pop, and Latin music, all the while collaborating with a celebrated roster of artists that includes Dizzy Gillespie, Paquito D’Rivera, Mike Brecker, Sonny Rollins, and Carly Simon. A longtime faculty member at Berklee College of Music, the California native has contributed to a number of books on bass technique and is the coauthor (with Robby Ameen) of Funkifying the Clave: Afro-Cuban Grooves for Bass and Drums. Lincoln is currently active with several musical projects including Saninde, Le Baby Macho, and the Franceschini/Goines/Ameen Trio. His latest album, The Art of the Bass Choir, featuring bass greats Tom Kennedy, John Patitucci, Victor Wooten, Mike Pope, and Matt Garrison, was released earlier this year.
