A native a Czechoslovakia, Miroslav Vitous is a world-renowned bass virtuoso, widely known as a founding member of the legendary jazz/fusion group Weather Report.  Vitous has also performed with jazz icons Bob Brookmeyer, Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Art Farmer, Charlie Mariano, Stan Getz and many others, in addition to his extensive work as a solo artist and bandleader.

Vitous has served as Jazz Department Director at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and has presented numerous music clinics throughout the world.

FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Miroslav at the 2015 convention of the International Society of Bassists in Fort Collins, Colorado.
