Nathan East has been a major force in the music scene for four decades… and counting. In addition to being a founding member of contemporary jazz group Fourplay, along with Bob James, Lee Ritenour and Harvey Mason, Nathan has done extensive tours with Eric Clapton, Kenny Loggins, Phil Collins and Al Jarreau.
Nathan’s career in the studio cuts across many genres and includes recordings with Whitney Houston, Elton John, Madonna, Beyoncé, Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand and many others. East is also the recipient of multiple Grammy nominations and awards, readers’ polls and other distinctions.
FBPO’s Jon Liebman sat down with Nathan at the 2017 NAMM show to talk about Nathan’s just-released solo album, Reverence, a follow-up to his debut solo release, 2014’s Nathan East.
