Jazz-funk bass doubler shares career highlights, studying upright with Ron Carter

Richie Goods is a renowned jazz/funk bassist from Pittsburgh, PA. After attending the Berklee College of Music, Richie moved to NYC to study with Ron Carter and Ray Brown, followed by being mentored by jazz legend Mulgrew Miller for 9 years. Since then, he has toured or recorded with jazz and pop luminaries, including the Headhunters, Louis Hayes and the Cannonball Adderley Legacy Band, Milt Jackson, Russell Malone, the Manhattan Transfer, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, Whitney Houston, Chris Botti, and Christina Aguilera. Most notably, he’s played on Grammy-winning albums by Alicia Keys and hip-hop artist Common. Richie’s most recent release, Connected, features vibraphonist Chien Chien Lu, released in January, 2023.
